23w3d u/s update

What a beautiful day it was.

My appointment was for 2pm, I got to the clinic at about 1:55pm and there was absolutely no parking they were doing construction right in front so you either had to park about 5 blocks away and keep driving in circles till a spot came available (thinking to myself I am not walking 5 block with a FULL bladder.. not going to happen). Finally I saw a spot in the paying area I park and thought hmmm do I have change, luckily I had a dollar in nickels & dimes. Which was good for an hour 2:15 I finally get into the clinic and I saw my sister and O's (dh) dad & step mom waiting, DH was not there yet as were my parents. We wait for a few more minutes my mum shows up. The lady behind the desk ask if my information is still the same from last visit....yes it is.

They move us to the next waiting area (were the air-conditioning was not working it was sooooo hot in there) we wait a few more minutes and DH shows up (he had to park 5 blocks away) Still waiting about 35minutes when the 1st tech calls my name she takes me into a little room goes over my last chart to make sure it is still me & that nothing has changed, also that I am not feeling nothing out of the ordinary. She takes my blood pressure, which was 110/60. Then leads me back to the waiting area again to wait about another 15minutes.

Finally my name is called I wave to dh (he was still sitting it the 1st waiting area as the second area was full) to come with me. We get into the room I lay on the table the tech says so this is you 6th pg and no children yet? Both DH & I say yes that is correct, then DH informs the tech that we have family here to see the u/s as well saying everyone is excited about this little one coming that they want to see too. Tech said sure not a problem, how many people? Dh say 12 with a smile on his face and the look on the techs face was priceless...lol I knew she was thinking that this room is a 12x8 room and hot already and to have that many people...ack... I laughed and said no more like 5 people she was like oh good ok.

She starts the scan to do her measurements and Orion is still measuring 1w ahead, he was quiet the wiggle worm and hitting at the probe, he is definitely getting stronger his hits were pretty good my tummy was jumping all over the techs hand was bopping up and down with it.. lol. She measured his head, tummy & checked his heart rate, which was beating nicely at 158bpm she showed us the four chambers to the heart and how they worked. We saw his had which was in a fist with his index finger pointed out then in then out, it was funny looked like he was wondering how it worked.. lol. She then found his other hand which it looked like he was trying to tickle me. Then she went to his face and we saw the bottom of his nose the two nostrils and his mouth which kept opening and closing then he started to stick his tongue out, it was just to cute DH & I started to laugh. It is just an amazing sight to see our baby our boy growing and doing so well it is over whelming. She scanned down the lower part of his body and asked (as she was going over his boy parts, quickly) if we new the gender. We said yes and she stopped right on it and once again Orion was a proud boy...lol

She said lets start taking some pictures, at that time I said could the family come in now? So DH went out to get them all. It was funny because as they piled into the room my mum came to my side and the rest rushed up to the computer screen, I said there is a screen on the wall behind you all they all turned to look at the screen and as soon as the tech put the probe back on my belly they all went "awe look at that" and at that moment Orion gave a good kick (my little show off...lol) they all laughed. Everyone was just glued to that screen on the wall I was looking at everyone and the expression of joy, excitement on all the faces, everyone is wanting this little baby boy just as bad.

We got a good shot of Orion's foot you can see his toes it measures 4cm, he was still sticking his tongue out when she went back to his face, it is quiet neat because you can see inside of him while inside of me.. the technology now a days. Orion is weighing in at about 1lb 6oz and when she checked his heart rate again it was at 155bpm...

Afterwards the tech put me in yet another room to wait for the Dr to see me, about 2minute later the tech came back saying that she was told that she was to do another scan to check my cervix she asked if I had that scan before I said yes plenty of times. As she was doing the scan we hear a knock at the door the Dr comes rushing in saying I had to come in I just saw a perfect shot to measure then he stopped looked at me and said oh sorry all is looking great just saw a great shot of your cervix to measure. He then mentioned to the tech if she noticed that my cervix goes to the left some. She said she thought it looked like it was (it was news to my ears, so I now have a tilted UU and a cervix the goes to the left..hmmm) so cervix is measuring 32mm which is still good, he said to come back in a month and do one more scan I'll be almost 28w then. He said there is no need for any other U/S after that one because the cervix will start to shorten eventually.

Afterwards the family went to my other sisters for BBQ...

All in all it was a really good day!
